How to options trade justice for honor

The point is to not only be active during the battle, but also mindful of what is important at the moment. It uses counter attacks and harassment to make up for its short attack range. While locked onto an enemy, combine a Forward Dodge with a Heavy Attack to perform a surprising Dashing Thrust. The second Chain, Wild Swinging, is performing by using three consecutive Heavy Attacks, the last of which affects the area around you. Move backward while pressing Light and Heavy Attack to escape and inflict Damage at the same time. When surrounded by enemies, perform a Zone Attack by pressing the Light Attack and Heavy Attack buttons simultaneously. Zones are the only way for many heroes to heal. Dodge forward and perform a Light Attack to perform a quick Helm Splitter. Time your Heavy Attacks correctly to trade blows with an enemy, rendering your Heavy Attacks uninterruptable.


With Warlords and Berserkers, this is a method that is very effective in almost every scenario. Chain two Side Light attacks for a guaranteed Combo. The second Attack Chain is Hiss and Bite, which is performed by chaining a Light Attack into a Heavy Attack. Medium difficulty hero with Strong Defense, hard hitting attacks, and a good mix of counter attacks and harassment. The Raider is the Vanguard class hero of the Vikings faction. After blocking an attack, immediately perform a Dodge to keep your distance and maintain long range. Perform a Light Attack directly after hitting with a Heavy Attack for a guaranteed Dagger Combo that applies Bleed. Hold Guardbreak during a Shoulder Bash to push your enemy further over a greater range.


Cancel an Attack Chain after the first strike to reset and avoid exposing yourself to a counter attack. You can get an idea at what each hero is best at by looking at their feats and passive abilities. The Warlord has 2 Attack Chains: Focused Strikes is performed by combining a Light Attack into a Heavy Attack. Running away is the best course of action, so you can regain your ground and recover health if possible. This is excellent for knocking enemies off balance and following up with a surprising LightAttack. While Sprinting, perform a Light Attack to initiate a Slither Thrust that inflicts a damage over time bleed effect. Throw enemies while charging them while sprinting or after a Guardbreak. The third attack causes a damage over time bleed. While Sprinting, performing a Heavy Attack initiates a Coiling Slash attack.


Linking an Unblockable Attack during Chains cancels the Chain and deals more damage. The Orochi has three attack chains: The first, Crosswind Slashes, is performed by using three consecutive Light Attacks. When locked onto a target, perform a left or right Dodge combined with a Heavy Attack to perform a Sidewinder Form swipe. Doing this will help out with keeping control of key points, as well as give you the advantage in 2v2 and 1v1 duels. When in this state, you will be more prone to damage and your attacks will be much slower than usual. While Sprinting, perform a Heavy Attack to initiate a Crashing Wave. If you find yourself getting pushed against a wall constantly, try to roll away and retreat instead of blocking or counterattacking.


Defense is only up for a short time, so timing is key. After deflecting an attack, Guard Break your enemy to Knock them down. In the Customization screen, it misleadingly appears as though you must Recruit heroes in order to play them. Learn the different active and passive abilities of your selected hero. XP boost to others just by playing with them on a team. Then follow that Headbutt with a quick Light Attack for a guaranteed counter stab.


Executions also enact an extra respawn penalty on your opponent, giving your team even more time to turn the tides of battle. Deflect incoming enemy attacks by dodging in the direction of the attack just before impact. Aftering deflecting an enemy attack, counter with a Light Attack for a quick Unblockable, and Undodgeable, Wind Gust. Hold Down on Guard Direction to go into Hidden Stance, masking your guard orientation and evading incoming attacks. Be sure to switch up Guard directions between these attacks to confuse your opponent. Guardbreak your enemy from a greater range by leading with a forward Dodge.


As with all attack chains, try and change guard directions to keep your opponent confused. Enemies that are out of Stamina can be freely hit with a Heavy Attack. Each class has a different moveset a la fighting games, with a different number of combos that can be done by hitting the Light and Heavy attack buttons in different combinations. Some heroes have the ability to regain health by killing enemy minions, so plan accordingly before you enter the match. Hitting buttons wildly will leave you open to attack and massive damage. Surprise your enemy with a Kick by performing a Guardbreak when evading an attack with Hidden Stance. Hold Guard Direction Down to enter Full Block Stance and automatically Block all incoming Attacks. Use Stunning Tap from a Long range to close the distance and initiate Stance.


While Sprinting, perform a Heavy Attack to initiate a Rushing Slash. Hold the Light Attack and Heavy Attack buttons to extend the attack at the cost of draining stamina. When surrounded, press Light Attack and Heavy Attack simultaneously to perform a Zone Attack. Knocking enemies into walls with throws or Shoulder Bashes staggers them. In open areas however, this can still be done against pillars, trees, or giant rocks for the same effect. Click How to Play on the main menu and complete the Advanced Practice.


Capture Zone in Dominion Battles, try your best to run over and Defend the Zone. Full Block Stance to react to overly aggressive opponents. After a Light Attack, perform a Guardbreak to initiate a Shoulder Bash. While Sprinting, perform a Heavy Attack to initiate a Headsplitter Leap. Use Full Block Stance to cancel any attacks by holding Down on the Guard Direction in the recovery time after starting any attack, or connecting with any attack. When this happens, you can deliver heavy damage while they struggle to get back up. It boasts good range on Heavy Attacks and High Damage when performing Top Heavy Attacks. Having Champion Status when you start the game is helpful, but you may want to purchase a few extra heroes before immediately purchasing it from the Social menu. Guard position to block their attacks. You can cancel the startup of a Light or Heavy Attack into Hidden Stance to confuse enemies and evade faster incoming attacks.


Chain together two Top Light Attacks for a guaranteed combo, as enemies cannot block the second Light Attack. If there is a pit or cliff nearby, chances are you can fall in it. Cancel a Storm Rush attack to surprise your enemy with an Attack or a Guardbreak. Pressing X twice will allow you to disengage from a battle. Step backward and perform a Top Heavy Attack to Dodge and Counter your enemy with a Riptide Strike. While Sprinting, press Guard Break to perform a Charging Shield Crush and down your enemy. Full Block Stance again until Stamina regenerates.


Finally, Tidal Wave Slashes is performed by using two consecutive Heavy Attacks. When locked onto an enemy, Dodge forward combined with a Light Attack will perform a Stunning Tap, stunning your opponent. Combine a Forward Dodge with a Light Attack to perform a Lightning Strike. Or Cancel the Recovery of a Kick into a Cobra Strike poke that inflicts a damage over time Bleed. During the unblockable Top Heavy Finisher, switch Guard directions and Attack to cancel into another Finisher. This can be a real game changer in Elimination, Brawls, and even Dominion Style matches.


When you respawn during Dominion battles, try to run to the nearest capture point to either defend or capture for your team. Not only are there detailed videos, but there are single player modes that allow you to practice without fear of letting any teammates down. Champion Status can be purchased for 2000 currency via the Social menu for your profile and has a number of great benefits. Retreat poke, inflicting Bleed. Warlord, can parry with a Light attack instead, which is easier to land and leaves your opponent with a shorter opening if you fail. Following someone up a ladder can be risky business. Perform a Guardbreak immediately following a Light or Heavy Attack to initiate a kick that pushes your enemy back.


Dominion mode award one point per second that passes. This can be used during a Chain Attack to confuse enemies and for extra damage. Any Attack performed out of the Hidden Stance automatically start on the second hit of an Attack Chain. The premium pack gives you the best deal for obtaining higher level gear faster, but it costs 500 per pack. The Faction with the most War Assets at the end of the Beta will be crowned the winner. Each attack you do to an enemy takes away from the stamina bar, which recovers after a short time.


Hold Heavy Attack after performing a backward dodge, then release it to initiate a Storm Rush attack. Dawn of the Steel Sun: three consecutive light Attacks. Minions do little damage, but a crowded onslaught can be quite distracting for your opponent, giving you an advantage when fighting against them. To Shield Bash while locked onto an opponent, Dodge left, right or forward, and perform a Guard Break. Just choose a faction together with your friends! You may also cancel the recovery of your Attacks into Hidden Stance, to evade any potential follow up Attacks. Regrouping with your allies is always a smart choice, since they can help you out when needed. The Warden is the Vanguard class hero of the Knights faction with an adaptable and straightforward playstyle. Are you too squishy?


After a Guardbreak, perform up to three Light Attacks to stab your enemy and apply a Bleed effect. Be sure to mix up your guard directions between strikes to confuse your opponent. Crush: performed with a pair of simple Heavy Attacks. While sprinting, holding Guardbreak will pick up and push an enemy over a distance. In some cases, this can cause them to panic and start moving around wildly, fall to the ground where you can continue attacking them, or even fall into a nearby pit. Use throws and Shoulder Bashes to knock enemies off environmental ledges and traps for not difficult, quick kills. This is an excellent follow up to Guardbreaking an overly aggressive enemy. You can also perform a Headsplitter Leap while locked onto an enemy by performing a Forward Dodge combined with a Heavy Attack. Finally, Sword Dance is performed by using two consecutive Heavy Attacks.


While Sprinting, perform a Heavy Attack to initiate a Rushing Sweep. Fighting on the edge enables you to engage enemies before they step foot in the territory, allowing you to continue earning points while keeping up a healing area. Dance of the Paired Blades. The Hack and Slash Attack Chain is performed by using a Heavy Attack followed by a Light Attack. This is a difficult situation to recover from and can lead to a quick death since you are knocked to the ground most of the time when thrown against a wall. Retreat into a Dodge, for extra mobility. The Nobushi has three Attack Chains: the first, Poke the Nest, is performed by initiating three consecutive Light Attacks. Peacekeeper gains Renown faster by killing enemy players. You can also follow up a Guard Break with the second hit of any Chain Attack.


Follow this up with a Knockdown and further punishment. Performing an execution on a downed player will prevent them from being revived by a teammate in all game modes. Or, you may Cancel the Recovery of your Attacks into a Kick by performing a quick Guardbreak after the cancel. As such, a lot of the Raiders advanced strategies revolve around Throws and Stunning Attacks. When you choose a faction, the stats from every game you participate in will impact the Faction War online, which is tracked periodically across all platforms. The Nobushi is a hybrid class character of the Samurai faction. When stamina runs out, the screen will start to become pale, signaling you to retreat and recover. Cancel a Heavy Attack with a Dodge to fake out your opponent and escape, then connect with a Dashing Thrust or Sidestep Strike. Kensei is the ability to finish any chain with a Top Heavy Attack to perform an Unblockable Attack.


Some classes specialize in parrying attacks when on the offensive, but you can benefit from having a good eye for parrying no matter which class you choose. Alternatively, after deflecting an enemy attack, counter with a Heavy Attack for a slower unblockable Hurricane Blast that deals more damage. Read up on a class, and as the previous tip suggests, pick one you vibe with and then stick with it for a while. As a feint substitute, The Conqueror can enter Full Block Stance to lure enemies into blockable attacks. Unlike a regular Guard Break while dueling, knocking an enemy against a wall will cause them to fall to the ground sometimes. Harass your enemy with combinations of Side Light Chain Attacks and Shoulder Bashes. While in Full Block Stance, follow up a Block immediately with a Light Attack for a guaranteed counter Stab. The faction you choose will also affect the shape your personal emblem will be. Some abilities on a hero are better suited for Dominion battles than they are for Duels. The Peacekeeper has multiple attacks that cause a damage over time bleed effect, which when combined with her high mobility, allows you to keep enemies under pressure while you retreat to a safe range.


With high mobility for countering and evading enemy attacks, but a short attack range, the Peacekeeper is ideal for harassing an enemy and backing off. Peacekeeper excels at picking off enemies. On one hand, if you catch up with them and attack, you can knock them off. This also forces your enemies out into the open where other players can notice and assist you in combat. Blocked Attacks bounce back when in this stance, but it also consumes your Stamina. When in combat with other players, if you find yourself out numbered early on, try to retreat and regroup with your allies. Perform a Light Attack immediately after deflecting an enemy attack for a guaranteed Riposting Stab that applies a Bleed. Use your Top Heavy Attack to try and bait your enemy into a Parry. After throwing your opponent, follow it up with a Chain Finisher, like the unblockable Top Heavy Attack.


Do this quickly enough, and you may just give your team a good enough edge to make a phenomenal comeback victory. Use this opening to counter Attack. In the For Honor beta, you start off with quite a bit of currency, enough to purchase every hero and two packs of gear. Forward Throw deals Stamina Damage to your enemy. Rush by pressing Heavy Attack. Both of you will have an easier time overcoming enemies when their attention is split. As with all Attack chains, be sure to switch Guard directions to confuse your opponent. The second chain is called Lightning Strikes Twice, and is performed by using a Heavy Attack, followed by two consecutive Light Attacks. Enemies lose stamina when knocked into others.


When locked onto a target, Dodge left, right, or back combined with a Light Attack to perform a Cobra Strike that inflicts Bleed. Block and start a new Chain in a different Guard. Some heroes have throws that can be incredibly effective for tossing someone over the edge of a cliff for an not difficult kill. Hard to learn character, and is primarily used for CQC. Warlord on the other hand gains Renown faster by holding Zones and reviving fallen teammates. Perform a light attacked followed by a heavy attacked, or vice versa. Finally, Death Rattle Form, is performed by attacking consecutively with two Heavy Attacks. Zone from falling to the other team and gives your allies time to respawn and move towards the area. To enter Full Block stance that blocks all Attacks: hold Down on the Guard Direction.


The Kensei is the Vanguard class hero of the Samurai faction. These War Assets can be used to help influence the Faction War map online and take over territory on the world map. Attrition: perform a series of light attacks while changing Guard directions between attack to strike faster and throw your enemy off and start an infinite chain. When locked onto an enemy, Dodge toward them and press Heavy Attack to perform a Head Crusher. No matter what game mode you are playing in For Honor, Guard Breaking an enemy against a wall will help you kill them faster. Avoid delays when blocking Light Attacks by riposting with Light Attacks. The best way to recover stamina is to retreat for a bit. Stamina is consumed when entering Full Block Stance, and for every blocked Attack while in the stance.


Keep these tips in mind when playing specific heroes in For Honor. Your stamina is represented by the green bar below your health. Follow up a Slashing Rush with a Light Attack to begin a chain. These award you with different weapons and armor for hero you specifically have chosen. In 2v2 and 1v1 Duels, you can score most kills within enclosed areas because of this. Form of the Dragon: Light Attack, followed by two consecutive Heavy Attacks.


Picking a faction in For Honor only impacts things outside of the battlefield. Doom of the Kensei: three consecutive Heavy Attacks. You can try out different heroes by choosing How To Play, which gives you a variety of options. Dodge left or right with a Light Attack to perform a Zephyr Slash. Crush Counterstrike follow up. This allows The Berserker to block or initiate chains with a fast attack. Perform a Guardbreak after any stab in order to back away from your enemy. Dodge left or right and perform a Light Attack to execute a Swift Strike.


Be aware of hard surfaces around you, or ledges for an not difficult kill. You can profit extra gear and other rewards by belonging to the winning faction at the end of a round. The Raider has three Attack Chains: Chop and Poke is a quick chain performed by using three consecutive Light Attacks. Enemies are stunned when The Raider knocks them into the environment with a Guardbreak charge. Dominion match, run into your minions and force the warrior to fight you there. Button mashing is also a sure way quickly deplete stamina. There are a ridiculous amounts of stats equipment can alter, so this is a great chance to balance out your weaknesses, or make your strengths even stronger. Walk backward and perform a Light Attack to keep your distance while executing a bleed inflicting poke. Final Argument: This adds a heavy attack to the end of your infinite chain by performing a heavy attack after your light attack.


Perform a Guardbreak after a Headspliter Leap to execute a followup Headbutt. When surrounded by enemies, press Light Attack and Heavy Attack simultaneously to perform a Zone Attack. If you see someone on your team in a duel, run over and help them out if you can. You can also Cancel the Recovery of a Kick into a Hidden Stance. Avoid being Parried by canceling a Heavy Attack with a Light Attack on startup to perform a Stunning Tap. When you enter a game and select your hero, take the time to pick and choose the right abilities for the occasion. Some have abilities no other class has, or a stance that entirely changes the way they battle. Assault is performed by linking a Light Attack into a Heavy Attack.


On the Raider, this is an Unblockable attack. When locked onto an enemy, Dodge and press Light Attack to perform a Spin Chop. Use this to approach enemies quickly and attack. Surprise your enemy by cancelling a Heavy Attack quickly after initiating it by using a Light Attack. This gear can give you the upper hand in battle against someone with more items, but it will cost you, and is really only worth it if you only use one preferred hero. The Berserker shines as a close combat harasser using Infinite Chains and numerous Chain Staters. They will give you the extra boost of salvage to purchase new gear for your heroes. Use these tips to excel in combat, while in Duel or Dominion mode. Wrath links two consecutive Heavy Attacks.


Timing your Light Attacks correctly allows you to Block and Counter incoming enemy Attacks. Use this information to choose equipment that will benefit you the most. After a successful parry, quickly perform a Guardbreak to execute an enemy stunning Shield Counter. You can Scavenge Gear in the Customize menu of the game and obtain new gear for your hero. When you parry successfully, you have a better window to counterattack and deal massive damage on an enemy. While Sprinting, perform a Guard Break to initiate a Slipping Lunge. Heavy Attack, Heavy Attack, Heavy Attack. Heavy hero and uses counter attacks, harassment and strong defensive options to destabilize enemies.


The more expensive packs give you a better guarantee for higher leveled gear. You can mix it up by performing a Stunning tap on a recovering enemy. This is very important during For Honor Dominion matches, and could be the difference between victory or defeat. To stay in close combat when missing an attack, cancel the recovery into a Zone Attack or a Dodge. It can be tempting to stand in the middle of a captured Zone out of sight, but it will be contested as soon as an enemy steps foot inside. When surrounded by enemies, The Conqueror can perform a Zone Attack while in Full Block Stance, buying time for your allies to arrive. This triggers a quick Dagger Cancel poke that applies a damage over time Bleed effect. The second chain, Dervish Strikes, is performed by using a Light Attack followed by a Heavy Attack. The Lawbringer is also a slow attacker and is hard to get used to, but he is not a bad character when you get the hang of him. He is a hybrid character that is a mix of the Vanguard and Heavy heroes, and he specializes in parries. The Lawbringer is all about parrying, so Block Damage and Resistance are not that important. Another Lawbringer specialty is Shove. Attack and defense are equally good, but I prefer Attack. You can also start combos and do them right after a block, so it gives you a lot of opening to attack the enemy. The Lawbringer is a giant ironclad knight in For Honorthat dispenses justice with his huge poleaxe.


Let me know if you need any help or have tips of your own! This is an unblockable push back, so it is great when the enemy guardbreaks. Revenge profit by Defense. Heavy Attack must successfully hit to be able to do the last Light Attack. Parry counts as Defense, so either of these is great. Lawbringer is parrying attacks into other attacks. Heavy Attack must be successful to go into the Guardbreak. This can be used to throw people off cliffs when they attempt to do so to you, or get better positioning for an attack. Pro tip: use feints to bait light attacks, parry them and go for Blind Justice.
